Message from the Chief Executive Officer
We operate in a constantly evolving world, and the construction sector in our country faces continuous challenges. Beyond its social impact, this sector remains a powerful economic driver and contributes, through innovation, to the emergence of engineering solutions adapted to evolving needs—whether in response to specific demands, changing circumstances, or the development of modern methods and technologies.
CNIC originated from the National Office for Prefabricated Systems, which supported the urgent reconstruction of a region affected by the 1980 earthquake, reflecting the State’s commitment to supporting Algerian citizens under all circumstances.
In 1984, as a national engineering center deployed across the country to construct major facilities such as hospitals, university campuses, technical institutes, sports complexes, and Olympic and semi-Olympic swimming pools—particularly through a large typification program—CNIC initiated its development by establishing an organization tailored to public sector needs, supported by highly qualified multidisciplinary teams.
CNIC successfully evolved through each phase of its development. In the 1990s, its transition toward full project management earned national and regional distinctions, including awards from the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister in 1994 and 1995, followed by the Maghreb Architecture Award in 2007.
CNIC continued to enhance its engineering capabilities and architectural creativity, while diversifying its activities and portfolio, with quality as a core priority. This commitment led to its first quality management system certification in 2006, followed by integrated management system certifications: ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, certified on March 23, 2024.
Its nationwide deployment and multidisciplinary expertise resulted in CNIC returning under the direct authority of the Ministry in charge of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, to act as an assistant in the management of major national projects, including new cities and large infrastructure developments, and more recently, projects across the African continent.
The transformation from EPE to EPIC in 2014 strengthened CNIC’s position as a project manager and established it as a key project owner’s assistant for major national projects.
For over 40 years, successive teams at all levels have contributed significantly to the advancement of the engineering profession, guided by shared values of rigor, innovation, technical mastery, and sustainable development.
With determination and a forward-looking vision, our teams continue to combine expertise and commitment to overcome challenges and actively contribute to the development of the national construction sector.
Our motto : Innovate, Build, Inspire
